MEET THE ARTIST
🐛 Shon Taylor | He/Him | 1998 | Student and Freelance Illustrator 🐛
Currently a Toy Design Student at the Otis College of Art and Design.
Outside of art I have many passions, many of which revolve around animals and the environment. I'm a naturalist by hobby, enjoying anything to do with entomology, paleontology, and ichthyology. Prior to joining the Otis community, I served as an educational volunteer for the Aquarium of the Pacific, and worked hands on with sharks, rays, horseshoe crabs, and many other incredible marine creatures. Now if I'm not honing my artistic skills, you can most likely find me scouring parks and gardens for insects across Southern California.
I also enjoy reading, watching movies, listening to metal, toy collecting, taxidermy, and going to conventions. I'm a big fan of practical effects and prop design, especially within the fantasy, sci-fi, and horror genres. I love dragons, aliens, robots, and anything other worldly.
I hope to one day fuse my passion for animals and SFX / props within the entertainment and toy industry, implementing my background knowledge of the natural world to both fascinate and educate. I also aspire to make products with a heavy emphasis on sustainability and conservation so that younger generations can continue to cherish what the Earth has to offer. I'm eager to see what role I might play in the world of toy, and I'm ready to get started!
